This track is a CD-R rip of a Live PA recording made November 29, 1999. DAWs were still in their infancy at the time and Live PA was more prevalent. This track was produced on the RM1x sequencer with a Virus B synched via MIDI, with the performance and mixing done live.
Being mixed live requires many takes to sequence the patterns, adjust track volumes, and make improvisations but it all had to be one-shot so many attempts were made — similar to recording a band.
At points too many elements are crowding the mix and you can hear it clipping and being overdriven, another hurdle for amateur producers creating music in those days.
Produced using:
- Yamaha RM1x
- Access Virus B
- Roland VM-3100

The Mumra Remix
Minneapolis producer Jeremiah Conlon, performing as Mumra (SoundCloud), remixed Lost and played it at First Avenue on Wednesday, February 9, 2000 — a 1-hour set in the mainroom as part of the Ghetto Blaster series, alongside DJ Echo and DJ Jezus Juice. Billed as garage house, breakbeat, and neo disco. Conlon has been a fixture at First Avenue across multiple projects over the years, most recently as Nyteowl.
The remix was never released. This flyer is the only surviving evidence it existed. One attempt to track him down went unanswered. The remix is out there somewhere — or it isn't.
